About Us

Overview

CastleArk Management is a registered investment advisor, offering investment management services to institutional and high net worth clients. CastleArk offers investment strategies for balanced portfolios as well as diversified large, mid, and small cap equity strategies. CastleArk is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois and presently has 19 employees.

History

CastleArk Management was founded in January 1999 by Jerry Castellini and Ed Clark. Mr. Castellini and Mr. Clark had previously managed the Chicago office of Loomis Sayles, a large institutional manager with over $4 billion in assets. At CastleArk, they were joined by the bulk of the Loomis Sayles investment staff, which had built top quartile performance over a ten-year period. Prior to Loomis Sayles, members of the CastleArk staff had worked together at Kemper Financial in Chicago. Their strategies and investment philosophies date back over 20 years.

Goal

CastleArk's mission is to provide their clients access to proven investment strategies designed to generate returns in excess of risk. The firm's investors share a common background as industry analysts and portfolio managers. There are strict liquidity requirements for each strategy, which limit a portfolio's size to a level that best optimizes investment returns.

Investment Process

The CastleArk growth investment process is driven by our "Life Cycle" investment philosophy. The CastleArk team believes that all companies' earnings trends follow four distinct Life Cycle phases: Emerging, Consistent, Cyclical Growth and finally a Mature Phase. As growth investors, CastleArk managers believe that the phase a company is in plays the dominant role in the stock's current and future valuation.
